Women at Work
This small body of work applies a feminist lens to the Ukrainian wartime economy that allows women to work high-paying industrial or mining jobs that were illegal before men departed for war. Floral patterns and textile collage place the feminine in a man’s world.

Feminism and Landscapes
This small body of work celebrates the empowering connection of women and asks, “Why are men still running the place when women get much of the quality work done?” Grape vines as subject matter symbolize support among women: paving the way for possibilities, providing friendship and love when primary relationships fail, spreading the ebullience of youth, and scaffolding with a wall of sisterhood.

I Hear E-Learning is a Thing.
When considering whether to travel during online class terms, a good friend encouraged me, saying “I hear eLearning is a thing.” Thanks to productivity skills I developed over years of business travel, I was able to take two week-long trips in the spring semester, one for a board meeting in London and one for a dive vacation in Cozumel, Mexico. I received no absences and completed the term with strong grades.

Aconcagua Apocalypse
I make work that investigates the fragility and fury of the human state through both figurative and landscape imagery. With figurative subjects, I explore gender and social inequities found in personal relationships where women or the unempowered are denigrated to the disadvantage of the whole.

My Humbling yet Spectacular Internship

My SCAD MFA degree program requires two internships: students may choose either a field or teaching position. I completed my first field internship in fall of 2023 with a local museum, MarinMOCA.

Victims of Convenience
One of my school projects last year contemplated the frontier between the safety of the observer and the front lines of the revolution, highlighting the compromises needed to prosper within the system. In evolving from a lengthy career as a technology executive required to go along to get along within the business world, I find myself now wanting to speak out. Women continue the fight for equal participation in society and in personal relationships. This work is about women who are used as victims of convenience by men shielding their sexual orientations from an unaccepting society.

The Front Lines of the Revolution
My work contemplates the frontier between the safety of the observer and the frontlines of the revolution. In evolving from a lengthy career as a technology executive, required to go along to get along within the business world, I find myself now wanting to speak out. This work is about gender inequities in corporate and personal relationships where women are denigrated for the benefit of men. Silence and compliance are no longer possible, so I tear at the cultural packaging to expose what lies below.
